Fixed asset tagging refers to physical fixing of asset tags on to fixed assets. For self sticking asset tags, the process involves pilling the asscet tag and fixing it to the asset. Similarly, for acetone activated asset tags, the procedure involves pilling the paper at the back, then applying acetone and then fixing the tag on to the asset firmly. Acetone is also used to clean the adhesive spillage or any dirt on the tag.
Fixed Asset Register Development
This process normally goes hand in hand with asset tagging. Asset register development refers to collection of details related to the assets being tagged. Details such as barcode of the tag, asset type, description of the asset, serial number, asset location during tagging and custodian of the asset are captured. Asset register is submitted both in soft and hard copy. If an asset management software is in place, the register is aploaded to to the system for further management.
